Mobile Museum of Art

Mobile Museum of Art is a 95,000 square foot art facility located on
the Alabama Gulf Coast. The museum sits next to a lake in the
picturesque 720-acre Langan Park.
Mobile Museum of Art, built in 1964 and expanded in 2002, houses a
diverse permanent collection of approximately 6,000 objects spanning
over 2,000 years of cultural history.
The collection parallels Mobile’s history and highlights the visual
arts of America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Included are strong
collections of regional artists, contemporary crafts, and American
painting from the 1930s and 1940s. The museum’s main gallery
showcases traveling exhibitions from prestigious collections across
the country and around the world and changes every six to eight
weeks.
The educational wing of the museum includes the exciting and
innovative ART Adventures, a state-of-the-art, interactive, hands-on
gallery filled with creative and inventive learning stations.
