Mobile, Alabama:
The Estuarium at Dauphin Island Sea Lab

The Estuarium at Dauphin Island Sea Lab

Dauphin Island is home of the Estuarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. This beautiful aquarium will give you a first-hand view of the ecosystems of the Mobile Bay area: Delta, Mobile Bay, Barrier Islands and the northern Gulf of Mexiko.

Exciting visual and interactive exhibits, including the Living Marsh Boardwalk, give visitors a unique educational experience.

Also on Dauphin Island: walk the trails of the 164-acre Audubon Bird Sanctuary, ranked nationally for its spring migratory activity.

And last: visit historic Fort Gaines, the site of the 1864 Battle of Mobile Bay. Various nations built forts on this site, but it was the American fort with walls four feet thick and 22 feet high that survived.
