Two of San Diego’s newest casinos are the Golden Acorn Travel Center in the East County Town of Camp and Pala Casino in San Diego’s North County town of Pala. Golden Acorn Casino Travel Center, which opened in August 2001, features 750 slots, table games galore, a24 – Hour restaurant and a travel center. Pala Casino features a 185,000 square – foot gaming facility with 2,000 state – of – the –art slot machines and videos, 50 Vegas – style table games, six restaurants, two lounges with live entertainment daily, 2,000 –seat Events Center and a 1,500 – space parking facility. Pechanga Entertainment Center
Just north of the San Diego County line, in the city of Temecula, is the Pechanga Entertainment Center, owned by the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Mission Indians. A 522 – room Hotel & Casino includes 75,000 Square - feet of state – of –the – art casino space with 2,000 slots, 60 game tables and 23 poker tables. The hotel will also offer 40,000 square - feet of convention and meeting space with a 24,000 square –foot Grand Ballroom, breakout meeting rooms, a 125 –seat Teleconference Hall and a 1,3000 – seat Showroom and Performance Theatre, as well as seven restaurants, including a 450 – seat bountiful buffet.
