Sugar Mill Gardens

Sugar mill plantation ruins are rare finds in Florida, and cultural writers will be inspired by these remnants of an era long ago forgotten. Stroll amid 12 acres of vibrant, dense botanical gardens at Sugar Mill Gardens, located on Herbert Street in Port Orange.

The gardens surround the ruins of a 19th century English sugar mill. The gardens are also home to 40-year old dinosaur statues erected when the site was known as the Bongoland amusement park. In addition, Sugar Mill Gardens features a unique human sundial. When standing on the sundial, visitors can determine the time of day by their own shadow.
