Halifax Museum

The museum is to presents the history of the Halifax area with from early pioneer families as well as an extensive photographic and postcard collection, and beach auto racing memorabilia. It also features a research facility with books, old city directories and phone books, documents, and maps.
The Halifax Historical Museum announcd the opening of the new feature exhibit, Vintage Housewares.

This beautiful exhibit displays china, crystal, glassware, silver, table linens, and kitchen implements of yesterday.
Early blue crystal from 1880 to pale green depression glass, pink floral china and silver serving pieces of the 1920's, 30's and 40's are highlighted with an embroidered pink organdy table cloth and napkins, and embroidered place mats.

Copper cookware, stoneware, wooden bowls and spoons, cooking utensils, and cookbooks from the turn of last century are displayed with every day table linens. Also highlighted is an exhibit of antique hotel china, including pieces from the Ormond Hotel, the Clarendon, the Williams, and the Morgan.
A picnic basket full of old kitchen gadgets, makes for a fun hands-on exhibit, too.
