Parrot Jungle Island
Parrot Jungle Island, located between Downtown Miami and South beach,
with more than 3000 animals and 500 varieties of plants and trees.
Over the past several months, the attraction has added some new features including the "Crocosaurus",
the largest captive crocodilian in North America, who calls the Serpentarium at Parrot Jungle Island his home.
He weighs 2000 pounds and is close to 20 feet long. They have also opened the Primate Area
with spider monkeys, capuchins and gibbons, all up close and personal; built their Orangutan
playground with plenty of space for resident orangutan kids- Millie, Jake and Hannah- to play,
and report that Casper, their albino alligator, lives happily and protected from the sun in the
a true replica of Florida'’ Everglades, sponsored by South Florida Water Management District.
