Chicago's downton is called 'The Loop' because of the elevated "L-Train" which loops around downtown before the lines continue to make their path to the neighborhoods of Chicago.
Many attractions are located in The Loop area or next to it. State Street and Michigan Avenue, Millennium Park including The Cloud gate (The Bean) and Jay Pritzker Pavillion, Buckingham Fountain, Willis Tower, Chicago River, and many of the notable architectural marvels of the city.
