Peanuts Sculptures

In an effort to honor Saint Paul native Charles M. Schulz, creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip, five-foot statues of the Peanuts characters were decorated each summer from 2000 through 2004 and placed throughout the city. The 'Peanuts on Parade'tra- dition was patterned after the successful 'Cows on Parade' in Chicago.

Although the five-year campaign ended in 2004, various Peanuts characters can still be found on street corners and sidewalks throughout the city. A permanent tribute to Charles M. Schulz is located in Landmark Plaza Park, where his famous characters are immortalized with permanent bronze statues of Snoopy and Charlie Brown, Sally and Linus, Lucy and Schroeder and Peppermint Patty and Marcie.
