Las Vegas

Las Vegas nightlife:Empire Ballroom, Icehouse, etc.

Empire Ballroom
Formerly known as Club Utopia, another freestanding hotspot to check out is the Empire Ballroom which is located next to MGM Grand and across the street from Monte Carlo. Designed by The Paul Steelman Design Group, the club accommodates 1,300 and features several different rooms. Candlelight and chandeliers are the décor for this nightclub, which also features an upper balcony with views of the Las Vegas Strip

ICE Las Vegas
ICE Las Vegas is the city's largest freestanding nightclub at 17,000 square feet. The self-proclaimed "Meta_Club" (meta is short for metamorphosis, a reference to the club's ever-changing interior) features the country's largest Funktion-One, 100,000-watt sound system. The nightclub also takes center stage in "The Club," a new reality series by "The Restaurant" producers Ben Silverman and Robert Rissenberg.

Not be confused with ICE Las Vegas, the Icehouse is in Downtown Las Vegas. The $5 million, 12,800-square-foot restaurant features a South Beach, Fla., feel with its art deco exterior and water wall down the building's east side. Open 24 hours, the Icehouse sits on the same land as the historic Pacific Fruit Express Co. icehouse that served Las Vegas and the Union Pacific Railroad. The plant was built in the early 1900s and demolished in 1988.

Sin City Brewing Co.
Sin City Brewing Co., the microbrew pub and retail shop, opened at Desert Passage and is the first for the Las Vegas-based brewery. In addition to showcasing its four signature beers - Sin City Amber, Sin City Light, Sin City Stout and Sin City Weisse - the Sin City Brewing Co. pub carries assorted souvenirs and a retail line with shirts and various items that sport the tagline, "I Have Sinned." Meanwhile, one of the nation's largest microbreweries, the Monte Carlo Pub and Brewery, is located at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, and downtown's Main Street Station houses the popular Triple 7 Restaurant & Brewery, recently named by the Las Vegas Review-Journal as one of Las Vegas' "hidden gems."
