Mud Island River Park

River Walk
The River Walk is one of the most unique representations of the Mississippi River in the world. It is a 5-block long replica of the lower Mississippi river, from Cairo, IL, to New Orleans, LA.
Each 30" stride is equivalent to one mile on the actual river. Along your journey, you'll revisit historical events and learn about geographical transformations.
The "1,000" mile journey concludes at the Gulf of Mexico, a one acre enclosure that holds 1.3 million gallons of water. There, visitors can enjoy a leisurely pedal boat ride around the Gulf area with the Memphis skyline in the background.

Mud Island River Park has two concessions areas to purchase food. The River Center Deli in the main building, and Gulf Port Grill located at the southern end of the River Walk. You"ll find a variety of sandwiches, ice cream, snacks and beverages to satisfy those appetite cravings

Hike it, Bike it, Float it
Get active at the island and experience the river first hand! Venture out in one of our canoes or kayaks into the still waters of the harbor. Float in our model of the Gulf of Mexico in a pedal boat or ride around the park or downtown Memphis on one of our bicycles.

Don’t miss the opportunity to experience great views of downtown Memphis, the Mississippi River and Mud Island River Park. Step aboard a cabin and let our Swiss-made monorail whisk you across the harbor to Mud Island River Park. Traveling at an average speed of 7 miles per hour, each cabin can carry up to 180 passengers for the exciting 1/3 mile trip.
