A short walk from he USS Lexington will have you diving into discovery at the Texas State Aquarium.
From tiny seahorses to big sharks, a walk through the mesmerizing waters of the aquarium puts you in a place more colorful than the Land of Oz and more mysterious than Atlantis. Come face-to face with a sand tiger, angelfish, and barracuda. Discover the wonderful world of sea otters and sea turtles, and get up close and personal with the dolphins in the Aquarium 's newest attraction, Dolphin Bay.

The Aquarium's islands of Steel, a replica of an offshore oil and gas platform found in the Gulf, is a huge 132,000 gallon (ca. 500,000 liters) exhibit that gives the visitor the illusion of being submerged 50-70 feet (15-21 m) under water. The natural beauty of the Aquarium’s Flower Gardens Coral reef habitat is a reproduction of the coral reef found 115 miles off the coast of Galveston.

There’s guaranteed surprise around every corner. And the Aquarium's newest exhibit is filled with jaw-dropping surprises.
