Puget Sound Model and Saltwater Tide Pool, plus other exhibits showcasing animals, technology, and more.
Two IMAX theaters showcase the latest in big-screen and 3-D films; the Boeing IMAX Theatre features a screen
six stories high and 80 feet wide, with 12,000 watts of stereo sound.
The Seattle Aquarium reopened to the public on June 22, 2007 after a
remodel and expansion. The project included replacing the pilings that support
the aquarium's primary pier, an 18,000 square-foot expansion to the existing building, a
completely new exterior and the addition of a 40-foot, 55,000-lb. viewing window into the
new 120,000-gallon showcase exhibit. The Aquarium is located at Pier 59, just down the hillclimb
stairs from Pike Place Market.
Pacific Science Center features five buildings of interactive science exhibits, a tropical Butterfly House, two IMAX theatres, a planetarium and laser light shows.
