Best time to travel / Season

The main travel season for South Utah is the summer! Highest temperatures can be expected during these months as well as high prices for accommodation (nearby in Moab). Best time to travel is late spring and fall when temperatures are moderate and the park is not crowded.

Climate and Temperatures

In summer, June through September, temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit and winter, December through February, temperatures often drop below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperatures may range 50 degrees in a 24-hour period. Very dry!
When visiting the park in July and August make sure to have enough water with you. Just short walks become strenuous activities and one looses a lot of water. Delicate Arch is e.g. at least a 30 min walk and you will need fluids when you want to enjoy the view at the arch.
