Getting Around in the Park

From late May through early September, the free Bryce Canyon Shuttle takes visitors to the park’s most popular viewpoints, trails and facilities. Using the shuttle is voluntary, but encouraged.

Opening Hours

The park is open year-round. Roads are plowed and sanded after heavy snowstorms. Some roads may be temporarily closed during and immediately following winter storms, but the park is never closed.

Lodging

Xanterra Parks and Resorts, Inc., (see web link below) operates the Bryce Canyon Lodge. The season begins April 1 and runs through October 31.


Nearby close to the park entrance is the Best Western Ruby Inn located including a camping facility. Check the Best Western Hotel website for details.

Camping

Bryce Canyon National Park has two campgrounds located in close proximity to the Visitor Center, Bryce Canyon Lodge and the geologic wonder that is the Bryce Amphitheater. Both have restrooms with flush toilets, and drinking water.


NORTH CAMPGROUND (Open year round)
Reservations through: National Recreation Reservation System (NRRS), see web link here on this page.
North Campground is located opposite the Bryce Canyon Visitor Center and has 107 sites in 4 loops.

SUNSET CAMPGROUND (Closed in winter)
Sunset Campground has 101 sites available on a first-come, first-served basis; NO RESERVATIONS ARE ACCEPTED. Located opposite Sunset Point approximately 1.5 miles south of the Bryce Canyon Visitor Center. Reservations online: see further down the website of: National Recreation Reservation System (NRRS)
