Spring and fall are ideal for Canyonlands because temperatures are moderate. During summer the Colorado River dries out more and more and the water level is low. This even accumulates over many dry summers.
The climate in Canyonlands is extremely dry. Most precipitation falls in early spring and late summer. Summer highs often exceed 38 degree C (100 F), with lows around 16 C (60 F).
