Pacific Grove

It's truly the heart of the Monterey Peninsula.
The luxury of retreat in Pacific Grove allows you the benefits of being close to the plethora of activities that grace our peninsula annually. That, coupled with the comfort and natural beauty of the rocky shore of Ocean View Boulevard, magnificent Victorians and the dining experience of worldly cuisines makes Pacific Grove the perfect location to lodge and dine during your sojourn.

Accommodations range from quaint turn-of-the-century Victorian B&Bs to inns and charming cottages blocks from the Pacific Ocean. Sample cuisine from traditional American to Italian, Asian to Mexican, French to Continental.
Outdoor dining, fresh start breakfasts and fine dining in a stately Victorian await you. Most are strolling distance from lodging.
At the end of the day's activities there is nothing more enchanting than a simple stroll through the shops & restaurants on Lighthouse Avenue in downtown Pacific Grove or witnessing the ever-perfect sunset at Asilomar State Beach.

Having a good time with kids on the Monterey Peninsula is a blast. Enjoy surfing, skating, otter spotting or visiting the Museum of Natural History. The activity line up covers the gamut for the kid in all of us, with one important rule: HAVE FUN!!!

Pacific Grove was originally settled as a Methodist retreat in the 1880s. In those early days, a curfew required window shades to be kept up until 10pm, then pulled down and lights extinguished thereafter. Activities such as dancing and card playing were definitely frowned upon, sunbathing was permitted only in modest suits 'of opaque material, which shall be worn in such a manner as to conceal form.'

Point Pinos Lighthouse

Located on the western tip of the peninsula. It's the oldest cintinously working lighthouse of the west coast. Point Pinos is active since February 1st, 1855. The Alcatraz Island Lighthouse has been established 8 month earlier but was replaced when the prison was extended in 1909.
