'The Garden State'
The many gardens, farms and fruit plantations coined the nickname of New Jersey. Anyhow it's the state which is populated the densest.
The state was named after Jersey, a British Channel Island.
Largest city is Newark which is situated adjacent from New York City.
New York City is connected via the Holland Tunnel, the Lincoln Tunnel and the George Washington Bridge.
Atlantic City is the mega gambling city of the Eastcoast and ranks among these type of cities #2 after Las Vegas.
Ashbury Park is one of the best known Ocean resorts along the coast and offers great sand beaches.
Famous scientists came from New Jersey or resided here: among them Albert Einstein, who worked with the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton; Thomas Edison, who had his laboratory in Menlo Park - he invented the electric light (light bulb) as well as the phonograph; F.B. Morse, who brought us the first working telegraph which revolutionized telecommunication at that time - he had his workshop near Morristown.
