An Opal bed the size of approx. 5x10 miles is loacted in Virgin Valley ca. 25 miles southwest of Denio - it has been discovered 100 years ago shortly after the turn of the century. Public mines are the Rainbow Ridge Mine, the Royal Peacock Opal Mine and the Bonanza Opal Mine.
