Itinerary 1: The Cascade Loop Scenic Hyway
The Cascade Loop is a scenic driving tour that begins and ends 28 miles
north of Seattle. In just over 400 miles, the Cascade Loop winds through the heart of
Washington State, from the Puget Sound, over the Cascade Mountain Range and down into the Columbia River Valley.
It follows the Methow River Valley up through the North Cascades National Park before descending into the fertile
tulip fields of the Skagit Valley. It crosses dramatic Deception
Pass Bridge and travels the length of Whidbey Island before completing the circle with a short ferry ride and
drive back to Interstate 5 at Everett.
Day 1: Seattle to Leavenworth
Day 2: Leavenworth to Lake Chelan
Day 3: Lake Chelan to Winthrop
Day 4: Winthrop to LaConner
Day 5: La Conner to Everett, via Whidbey Island (50 miles + a 20 minute ferry ride)
